Thanks to participants in 2011 "Walking With a Purpose"

Several dozen people participated in the AWWIN PINK Walking With a Purpose event Saturday afternoon at Savannah Mall. The event was in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Breast cancer survivors and supporters took laps around the mall for the cause.

Proceeds from Saturday's walk will be used to assist low income women by providing lodging, clothing, financial stipends for utilities, food for women who are taking chemotherapy and preventative education. A portion of the proceeds will also be awarded to two institutions that assist low income women with mammography.
